Taunting the Luce!

Beckett got a fireman hat this weekend and had the time of his life chasing Lucy with it and whacking her in the face... I hope he doesn't do this with his sibling one day!

Happy 1st Birthday Beckett!!!

A Year ago today, Beckett Hayden Brown was born! Since he's an official St. Patrick's Day baby, we thought what better way to celebrate than at the local Irish pub! Everyone was there dressed head to toe in their Irish gear and the place was PACKED! We enjoyed the atmosphere and Beckett was ready to party! As you can see below, Beckett made a fast break for the beer but when daddy took it away... someone was not very happy! Oh dear... what in the world will we do when it's time for his 21 run?!

Sock Monkey Birthday Party!

Beckett had an AMAZING first birthday party! Who knew planning a party for over 30 people would wear me out afterwards but in the end it was so worth it! We decked out the house in sock monkey decorations and had many of our wonderful friends and family come together to celebrate our little monkey turning one! It was a great first birthday to remember!

Baby Dedication...

On February 28th, 2010 Beckett was dedicated to the church! It was such a special day. Grandma was there along with "auntie" Cherie. Beckett's Godparents (Gretchen and Owen) were also there to witness this special day! Here is the letter I wrote to him:

Dear Beckett,

There are so many things I want to share with you I don’t even know where to begin! Of course you know how much we love you and how blessed we feel that you are our baby. I can’t even express in words what an amazing gift from God you are to us! Beckett, this past month you were very sick and while I know you won’t remember your last stay at the hospital, all I can tell you is that it was the most horrifying moment I have ever experienced. At one point you stopped breathing and started turning blue. Never in my life have I ever felt so helpless and scared. I panicked as I watched your father hold your limp body in his arms begging for you to come back to us. The fear that overcame me at that brief moment was immense. Looking back I realize now that while I felt alone and helpless that one evening, God was with you keeping you safe and at the same time watching over us as your parents. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Beckett, there will be many times in your life where you may begin to question the world around you and why certain things happen in life. If there is one message that we have discovered in our own journey and want to share with you, it is to have faith in the Lord who protects you and know how loved you are. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5

As your parents, we want to continue to build our family on a firm foundation of faith and while your father and I continue to learn and grow in our own faith, we hope to model for you our beliefs and support you as you begin your journey as a child of God.
